Shooting Eagles with a Canon – E-book in pdf format

An e-book version of a blog, this is the story of a solo trip to Scotland in search of the two most-loved and most-hated species of the Highlands. Loved in the past by egg collectors, and killed by shepherds and game keepers, these birds are now big business in places where the public can see them. The story began 6 months earlier with a budget, some borrowed books and a difficult building and carpentry job intended to prop up the budget. Driven by a vision of technical photographic perfection it examines in detail the specifications of the equipment needed to photograph a subject which, for fear of the law, must remain at a distance. It also records some of the wonderful places where eagles live and the fascinating people who are their modern day neighbours.
